The SAQ makes a donation through its reusable checkout bags

In February 2006 the Société des Alcools du Québec (SAQ) introduced its first reusable canvas bags. As a show of support for sustainable development, the SAQ has decided to donate $0.50 to the Fondation de la faune du Québec for each bag sold. In the 2007 summer, a new generation of polypropylene bags was introduced, one of them showing pictures of wildlife. A new model was issued during spring 2008.

A total of $ 500 000 was collected and invested in the Fonds pour la biodiversité et les habitats (biodiversity and habitat fund) in support of conservation projects targeting imperilled wildlife.
