Musk Oxen by Daniel Labelle (2004)

Born in 1972, Daniel Labelle is an artist from Chibougamau (Québec), who has been passionate about painting for several years. In high school, he sketched detailed drawings that eventually led him to explore painting. His preferred medium is acrylic.

In 1990, he moved to Chicoutimi where he participated in group and solo exhibits, earning a mention of excellence in the visual arts competition held in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region in 1995.

Labelle is a self-taught artist who depicts his perception of the environment with realism. Pure technique as well as a strong measure or perseverance have culminated in public appreciation and peer acknowledgment in regional competitions. Several of his paintings and frescoes may be found in private company collections.

Daniel Labelle spends most of his time painting and his creativity has led him to explore different themes, ever on the lookout for something new and interesting to portray.
